DR. MIN BASADUR

Dr. Min Basadur is a recognized expert in the implementation of creative problem-solving processes into new product innovation, strategic planning, productivity, employee involvement, total quality management, R&D management, idea generation and organizational adaptability.

He consults internationally with many large corporations such as Frito-Lay, PepsiCo, IBM, Nestlé, McCormick, General Electric, Ford Motor Co., Procter & Gamble, Goodyear, the US Air Force Aerospace Laboratories and Stelco.  He also publishes in leading research journals.

During twelve years of industrial research and development experience with Procter & Gamble, he was awarded three US patents and brought several new products to market.  His unique background in both engineering and psychology led to his interest in how innovation evolves from synergizing analytical and imaginative thought.  This led to the extensive development of his approaches to applied creativity at Procter & Gamble, where he instituted creative problem-solving methodology corporation-wide as an internal management consultant over an eight-year period.

In 1980, Dr. Basadur completed his doctoral studies at the University of Cincinnati.  His research in  applied creativity won the prestigious S. Raines Wallace International Award given annually by the American Psychological Association, and earned him his Ph.D. in Organizational Behaviour.  He also earned his Master’s Degree in Business Administration at Xavier University and his Bachelor’s of Applied Science in Engineering Physics at the University of Toronto.

Dr. Basadur is currently a professor of management at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario and has his own private consulting practice.  He is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers of Ontario (APEO), the Delta Tau Kappa International Social Science Honour Society, a colleague of the Creative Education Foundation, a member of the Academy of Management, the American Psychological Association, and a charter member of the American Psychological Society.
