DR. MIN BASADUR
Dr. Min Basadur is a
recognized expert in the implementation of creative problem-solving processes into new
product innovation, strategic planning, productivity, employee involvement, total quality
management, R&D management, idea generation and organizational adaptability.
He consults internationally with many large corporations
such as Frito-Lay, PepsiCo, IBM, Nestlé, McCormick, General Electric, Ford Motor Co.,
Procter & Gamble, Goodyear, the US Air Force Aerospace Laboratories and Stelco.
He also publishes in leading research journals.
During twelve years of industrial research and development
experience with Procter & Gamble, he was awarded three US patents and brought several
new products to market. His unique background in both engineering and psychology led
to his interest in how innovation evolves from synergizing analytical and imaginative
thought. This led to the extensive development of his approaches to applied
creativity at Procter & Gamble, where he instituted creative problem-solving
methodology corporation-wide as an internal management consultant over an eight-year
period.
In 1980, Dr. Basadur completed his doctoral studies at the
University of Cincinnati. His research in applied creativity won the
prestigious S. Raines Wallace International Award given annually by the American
Psychological Association, and earned him his Ph.D. in Organizational Behaviour. He
also earned his Masters Degree in Business Administration at Xavier University and
his Bachelors of Applied Science in Engineering Physics at the University of
Toronto.
Dr. Basadur is currently a professor of management at
McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario and has his own private consulting
practice. He is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers of Ontario
(APEO), the Delta Tau Kappa International Social Science Honour Society, a colleague of
the Creative Education Foundation, a member of the Academy of Management, the American
Psychological Association, and a charter member of the American Psychological Society.
