 Linda has gathered her experience and wisdom from an eclectic
career in fashion, marketing, public relations and politics, in the public, private and
not-for-profit sectors.
As an award winning fashion director for
a number of Canada’s leading retailers and shopping centres, Linda has produced
fashion presentations for thousands of Canadians throughout Ontario and Quebec. Highlights
of her fashion career include shows for Prince Andrew and the Duchess of York, the wives
of the G-7 Economic Summit leaders and on behalf of Canada’s leading fashion
retailers and designers.
During her three-year term as a member of
the Ontario Legislature and Parliamentary Assistant to the Hon. David Peterson, former
Premier of Ontario, she was appointed the Advocate for the Clothing and Apparel Industry
for the Government of Ontario and acted as Chair for the Ombudsman’s Committee. While
in office, Linda traveled to London, England Tokyo, Japan, promoting the Ontario Garment
Industry.
As Executive Director for a national,
not-for-profit children’s organization, she crossed Canada educating and developing
awareness on the issue of child abduction and safety. While representing an International
trade show organization, she traveled throughout Asia sourcing exhibitors and suppliers
for the Toronto based exposition, learning first hand the challenges presented by cultural
diversity.
Linda communicates in a warm, open and
humorous manner that both educates and engages her audience and encourages those who hear
her message to live up to their fullest potential in everything they do in life.
Linda is now President of the Mentor
Communications Group, a Toronto based Public Relations and Public Affairs firm. Clients
have included Wendy’s Restaurants of Canada, the Schulich School of Business, The
Canadian Marketing Association, Ortho-Biotech, the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation.
