Jamie Clarke and Alan Hobson have made two expeditions to Mount
Everest, first in 1991 and then in 1994. Together they made Canadian communications
history in 1991 by sending the first live radio reports from Everest via satellite.
They were co-organizers of the
1994 expedition, with 14 members, a $500,000 budget, and the goal of being the first
Canadians to scale Mount Everest without bottled oxygen. Both were nominated for the
Order of Canada, the highest honour that can be bestowed on a Canadian citizen.
They are currently organizing the
1997 North American Mount Everest Expedition, with the intent of gaining the summit on May
10, 1997 at 12:10 pm.
Adventurers both, they participate
in many physically and mentally demanding sports, including ice climbing, rock climbing,
mountaineering, high altitude climbing, white water rafting, parachuting, bobsled, luge,
marathon running, hang gliding and bungee jumping.
Both Jamie Clarke and Alan Hobson
have extensive public speaking experience. Clarke is a former reporter for a major
market radio station, and live on-site announcer at many international events.
Hobson is the author of four books on adventure and achievement, and was recently invited
to write the biography of hockey legend Gordie Howe.

American corporations and associations, including...General Motors, Johnson & Johnson,
