HENRY BRUNTON ,

Henry Brunton is one of Canadas leading golf
coaches and educators. He is the Canadian National Golf Coach for the Royal Canadian Golf
Association (RCGA) and the 2003 Canadian PGA "Teacher of the Year" (Ontario).
Henry has been Canadas National Coach since the inception of the RCGA Player
Development Program in 1999. In this capacity, Henry has authored the "RCGA
Achievement Guide", a comprehensive manual for high performance players and coaches.
He is responsible for the hiring and training of regional coaches across the country,
developing and delivering training camp curricula, and coaching international teams
representing Canada. He has coached squads that have competed in Canada, Australia, New
Zealand, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Germany, Ireland, Malaysia, and the United States. He has
been at the helm of both the 2001 Four Nations Cup Championship Team and the 2003 Copas de
las Americas (Americas Cup) Champions.
Henry is a graduate of the University of Ottawas
physical education program. He is also is a Certified GolfPsych Instructor. He has
received considerable professional training from many of the foremost golf educators in
the world. He has studied and participated in select programs in Scotland, Spain, Sweden,
the United States, and Canada. He has been recognized by the CPGA and by Range Magazine in
their 2003 rankings as a "Top 50" Golf Instructor in North America.
Henry, 38 is a native of Ottawa, ON who currently resides
in Mississauga, ON. He is an eighteen year veteran Class "A" member of the
Canadian PGA (CPGA). He has previously been employed at some of Canadas finest golf
clubs, including Glen Abbey, Royal Montreal, Lionhead, Emerald Hills and Rideau View. He
has been a leader in this organization. In 1999, he was hired by the CPGA to design and
develop a national teacher and coach education program. Henry created the highly acclaimed
Teaching and Coaching Certification Program (TCCP). The TCCP is a mandatory training
program for all CPGA Professionals. As well, he was an instructor at Humber College in
Etobicoke, ON from 1995- 1999 in the Professional Golf Management Program.
Henry is also a distinguished player. He is a two-time
Quebec PGA "Player of the Year" (Assistants Division). He is a veteran of the
Florida Mini-Tours and has won several sectional PGA events.
In addition to his duties with the RCGA, Henry acts as a
consultant to the Acushnet Company, manufacturers of Titleist, Cobra and Foot-Joy brands.
Henry has been conducting Titleist and Cobra custom club fitting and product knowledge
seminars nationally for golf professionals since 1999. As well, Henry leads "Strive
for Excellence", an intensive coaching program for aspiring high level junior and
collegiate golfers.
Much of Henrys success can be attributed to his
dynamic personality, communication skills, and athleticism. These traits combined with a
thorough knowledge of the golf swing, mental game, and the skill acquisition process makes
him one the countrys top golf coaches.
