Voyageur – Bob spends his summers living as a Voyageur and Mountain-man, canoeing the historic canoe routes of the early fur traders in North America. His journeys are 100% true to the period which is what makes his story so different. His canoe is made of birch bark. His food – peas and salt pork! NO toothbrush, sunscreen, bug spray, tent or sleeping bag! His longest journey to date has been from Montreal to Winnipeg, a distance of 2,500 kilometers which took 100 days. He paddles 12 hours a day at 40 strokes a minute and uses flint and steel to start his fires. He wears the clothes and lives the part! Bob’s 6th great-grandfather was a Voyageur and Bob follows in his foot steps discovering Canada, history and himself – and then relating that to business. Bob’s stories about team work, planning, focus, adversity and determination in the context of his expeditions are fascinating and captivating to every audience, any audience! The way Bob ties his expeditions to modern challenges is absolutely unique!
